Sales overview
Manufacturing sales in Ontario slid in November to their lowest level in seven months. Sales totaled $20.6 billion, down $488 million (2.3%) from October: Ontario’s manufacturing industries are forecast to post relatively high GDP growth rates through to 2013, with productivity reaching new highs by that time.
Retail sales in Ontario increased in November for the fourth straight monthly gain. Sales totaled $13.3 billion, an all-time record high, up $155 million (1.2%) from October.
Housing sales in Ontario via the MLS totaled almost $67 billion in 2010, up 7% year-over-year. The gain was due entirely to higher prices (the average sale price of $352,000 is a record high), as unit sales were virtually unchanged.
