Trevor Hood is Partner and Vice-President of the Corporate Finance Division at SB Partners LLP practicing exclusively in the areas of Business Valuations, Litigation Support and Mergers and Acquisitions. Trevor is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators and is also recognized by the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants as a specialist in business valuations, having been granted the CA-CBV designation.
The underlying thrust of Trevor’s practice is to uncover opportunities to improve business performance. In this regard, he assists business owners quantify the worth of all or part of their business tangible and intangible assets including brands and intellectual property or its securities and then explain the analysis in an appropriate, easy to understand manner. His insight into the numbers helps clients realize the potential value of their business and guide them as to how they can add value to their bottom line. Trevor is typically engaged in business securities valuation, financial litigation support, succession planning, asset/share purchases and sales, business and partnership mergers, planning and executing effective business exit strategies and corporate finance advisory services.
Trevor provides direction and advice to business owners, family businesses, not- for-profit organizations, professional partnerships, individuals and corporations in a broad range of industry sectors. He frequently collaborates with other professionals including other accountants, litigators, family law lawyers, commercial lawyers on matters relating to their assignments where supporting analysis or a report must have credibility and hold up to scrutiny in order that their clients may complete a transaction, negotiation or dispute resolution without undue interruption.
Outside of his practice, Trevor is a Board member of the Burlington Community Foundation and has worked with McMaster University’s DeGroote School of Business to provide practical experience to MBA students. Trevor is a highly regarded speaker, and has appeared on Toronto’s CITY-TV news program Cable Pulse 24 as an expert on succession issues. He has also made presentations on business valuations, corporate finance and succession planning to a number of organizations. He is an active and competitive individual and his pastimes include hockey and golf.
