Growing up in Malta, the ocean was our playground and scuba diving was a passion I developed from a young age. My wife, Carol and I have been on dives in the Mediterranean Sea and the Caribbean Sea and we hope to visit many other exciting places. There is a thrill of adventure with diving and an overwhelming sense of peace. Our favourite place for diving is Ambergris Caye, Belize. Not only is the diving great, the people are warm and friendly and those burritos mmmmm!!!
I have always loved music and like so many young people, wanted to be part of a band. Drums were my instrument of choice. At age twelve, I bought my first drum kit, with some financial help from my brother, and I have been playing in various bands ever since, performing in a number of venues in my spare time and doing some studio recordings. I still play with the band, but with the arrival of two adorable children, performances have been put on hold for my most favourite pastime of being with my family and enjoying watching the kids grow up.
Giving back to the community you live in and volunteering is important to me. The community is us, and virtually everyone at some point in t heir lives will need to be cared for by the community. For the past two years I have sat on the fundraising cabinet for the United Way Burlington Campaign and have chaired the SB Partners' United Way Campaign since 2008. The United Way serves for a great cause and I am proud to be part of it.
